The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has finally launched the EHSAAS NAUJAWAN PROGRAMME on 7th of November 2024. This is a significant step toward empowering the youth of KP.
The launching was done for two major initiatives: the Ehsaas Naujwan Programme and the Chief Minister Youth Internship Programme. These programmes aim to provide financial and professional support, fostering entrepreneurship and skill development across the province. The ceremony was held at Chief Minister’s House Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur inaugurated the Ehsaas Naujawan Programme initiative during a ceremony. This programme is specially designed to offer interest-free loans to help young individuals establish their own businesses. To facilitate this process, the government has launched an online portal dedicated to the applicants from across KP where they can easily apply. The programme is set to run for three years with a total budget of Rs 3.0 billion, to focus on self-independence and entrepreneurship.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Youth Internship Programme seeks to equip young graduates with practical skills and professional experience. The programme offers internships to 400 students annually, each lasting three months with a monthly stipend of Rs 25,000. Over the next three years, a total of 1,200 students will gain valuable experience in both public and private sector organizations. To qualify, applicants must be aged 29 or below and hold a minimum of 16 years of education from a Higher Education Commission (HEC)-recognized institution.
Chief Minister Gandapur spoke at the launch event in which he emphasized that these initiatives are part of a broader vision inspired by party founder Imran Khan. Programmes like Ehsaas Naujwan, Ehsaas Hunar, Ehsaas Rozgar, and Ehsaas Apna Ghar aim to empower individuals financially and enable them to actively contribute to the economy. The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of these initiatives in helping young people achieve financial independence and build successful futures.
KP’s commitment to fostering youth-led growth and tackling unemployment through sustainable and inclusive measures can be seen in these programmes. As more young individuals start to benefit from these initiatives, the province is set to witness a wave of economic growth through their entrepreneurial projects.
